The Media Center's Satellite Truck


Since 2006 The Media Center has provided news coverage throughout West Virginia and the Mid-Atlantic region through its satellite uplink truck.  From local news conference satellite pool feeds to providing national and international coverage of major news events, The Media Center has answered the call.

The Media Center has provided coverage for the following networks; CNN, Fox News, Fox Business News, Bloomberg News, ESPN, ESPN 2, ESPN News, NBC, MSNBC, The Weather Channel, CBS, NFL Network, The Golf Channel, ABC, Mountaineer Sports Network, WV Public Broadcasting and Network News Service.

The national events The Media Center has provided coverage for the following national events include; Upper Big Branch Mine Explosion, Virginia Tech Shooting Massacre, Senator Robert Byrd’s Memorial Service, 2008 Presidential Election, West Virginia Bridge Day Festival, Upper Big Branch Miners Memorial Service, West Virginia U.S. Senatorial Election Night, Southern West Virginia Flooding, West Virginia University Football and Basketball, ESPN Game Day, Greenbrier Classic PGA Tour Golf Tournament, One-Year Anniversary Horizon Oil Rig Explosion, Verizon iPhone 4G First Day Service, Department of Defense Announcements, Marshall Plane Crash Memorial Service.

WV Tourism Industry Officials Meet With State Lawmakers

Charleston, Feb. 13, 2012 – West Virginia tourism and travel industry representatives and vendors gathered at the Capitol Monday, Feb. 13 for Tourism Day at the Legislature, an event designed to bring awareness to the significant economic and social impact tourism brings to the state. More than 70 exhibitors from various tourism-related businesses took part in the annual event in the Capitol. Industry partners had the opportunity to speak with legislators and the visiting public throughout the day.

Natalie Tennant on Fox News

The efforts of state officials to crack down on voter fraud in Southern West Virginia are getting national attention.

Secretary of State Natalie Tennant was a guest on Fox News this weekend to talk about the voter fraud pleas Lincoln County Sheriff Jerry Bowman and Lincoln County Clerk Donald Whitten are scheduled to enter next month.

"We don't tolerate election law violations no matter who tries to do that," Secretary of State Tennant said Sunday morning during a segment involving the Fox News Voter Fraud Unit.

WV Coal Association’s Annual Symposium

State and national leaders, have been joining with energy experts and regulatory officials in addressing representatives of the state’s coal industry during the 39th annual West Virginia Coal Association Mining Symposium. The Media Center provided news coverage of the 2012 Symposium, including live talkbacks with President of the WV Coal Association, Bill Raney, Governor Earl Ray Tomblin and Senator Joe Manchin.
