WV Tourism Industry Officials Meet With State Lawmakers

Charleston, Feb. 13, 2012 – West Virginia tourism and travel industry representatives and vendors gathered at the Capitol Monday, Feb. 13 for Tourism Day at the Legislature, an event designed to bring awareness to the significant economic and social impact tourism brings to the state. More than 70 exhibitors from various tourism-related businesses took part in the annual event in the Capitol. Industry partners had the opportunity to speak with legislators and the visiting public throughout the day.

The efforts of state officials to crack down on voter fraud in Southern West Virginia are getting national attention.

Secretary of State Natalie Tennant was a guest on Fox News this weekend to talk about the voter fraud pleas Lincoln County Sheriff Jerry Bowman and Lincoln County Clerk Donald Whitten are scheduled to enter next month.

"We don't tolerate election law violations no matter who tries to do that," Secretary of State Tennant said Sunday morning during a segment involving the Fox News Voter Fraud Unit.
