Charleston, WV – With most schools across West Virginia opening this month, the West Virginia Immunization Network (WIN) and state health officials are urging parents to ensure that their children, particularly if they are entering the seventh-grade, are properly immunized. Nationally, West Virginia immunization rates are lower for the two important vaccinations – Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis) and MCV (meningococcal/meningitis).

There’s nothing like a Girl Scout cookie.

The Girl Scouts of the Black Diamond Council rely on people buying those cookies to fund their activities all year long.  In 2010, The Media Center worked with the Black Diamond Council to build on the sales of those cookies, across the state, to assist with the funding of the council’s many programs for the young girls.  The assistance came in the form of an all around media awareness campaign that included statewide articles in newspapers and on radio and TV.
